The Plymouth Engineering Skills Centre was opened in 2014 as a solution to our growing number of learners in and around Plymouth. It now acts as a training hub for apprentices from multiple local and international manufacturing companies, as well as providing daytime and evening courses for school pupils, adults and businesses.
Standards Apprenticeship – Engineering Technician (Fitter)

Start your engineering career with a Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship combining workshop skills and technical study.
This apprenticeship is ideal if you want a broad engineering foundation before specialising in a fitter pathway linked to your job role. You will build practical skills and technical understanding through day-release training and apply them directly in the workplace as you prepare for end point assessment.
Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Level 3

Designed for apprentices in high value manufacturing environments, this programme develops the blended skill set needed to keep production running. You will learn installation testing fault finding and planned maintenance while building competence across electrical electronic mechanical fluid power and control systems.
Engineering Technician (Toolmaker & Tool and Die Maintenance Pathway) Level 3

Machining Technician Apprenticeship

Develop precision machining skills using conventional and CNC equipment through a Level 3 apprenticeship.
If you enjoy accuracy problem solving and making components to tight tolerances this apprenticeship builds real workshop capability. You will learn to interpret drawings set up tooling and operate machines including CNC while applying inspection and quality routines in the workplace.
