Whether you need to improve a grade, gain a missing qualification for university, or boost your career prospects, OCSW is here to help. Our adult-only courses provide a supportive environment with expert tutors and small class sizes. All applicants will be invited to a skills assessment and interview with the Tutor before being placed on the course.
Maths
GCSE Maths serves as a gateway qualification and is often required by universities, employers, and training programs across the majority of sectors. The course aims to enable you to demonstrate problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and numerical competency that are increasingly valuable in our technology-driven world. Beyond academic requirements, GCSE Maths provides practical life skills for financial management and informed decision-making
The primary aim of ais to equip you with a thorough understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to apply them to real-world problems. We focus on building logical reasoning and problem-solving skills to ensure you are exam-ready and "maths-confident."
English
Improve your communication skills and open doors to new career paths. This qualification focuses on reading, writing, and spoken English.

Delivery: One 3-hour session per week.

Assessment: Two exam papers and a Speaking & Listening assessment.

Commitment: In addition to class time, you will need at least 2 hours per week for home study.

Entry Requirements: A previous Grade 3 (D), a Level 2 Functional Skill in English, or a successful initial assessment at Level 2.
We also have a range of Functional Skills Maths & English qualifications from Entry Level up to Level 2 - whatever your ability we have a course at a pace and level suited to you.
