The Education and Excellence Committee (EEC) is a board of external members responsible for overseeing the quality of our provision and services.  The Committee prioritises the welfare and wellbeing of both staff and learners.  The EEC brings together a diverse group of professionals whose varied expertise and backgrounds help us capture and champion the voices of our entire community—including learners, staff, employers, and local partners.

Jonathan Education Excellence

Jonathan Keable

Chair, Business Strategy Group: Managing Director

Jonathan brings over twenty years of senior management experience from national corporate roles and successful business leadership. He has delivered organisational turnaround, profitability and growth, and previously managed his family dairy farm for a decade following personal loss. Jonathan founded Business Strategy Group Ltd in Plymouth, providing HR, marketing and consultancy services recognised for excellence. He also serves in leadership roles with the Federation of Small Businesses and Plymouth boards

Plymouth City Council: Growth Board and Funding Manager Economic Development

Mike is a multidisciplinary manager with extensive experience across public and voluntary sectors. He specialises in bid writing, programme leadership and securing funding for economic development, adult education and skills initiatives. Mike ensures effective delivery, governance and measurable impact across complex partnerships. His pragmatic approach strengthens collaboration, builds sustainable programmes and improves learner pathways, helping communities access opportunity and organisations translate strategy into outcomes across the South West region effectively.

Associate Professor - Academic Development

Lynne is the Programme Leader for the online Masters programme in Professional Education Practice at Marjon University and works on academic development across the university, including piloting and implementing the Marjon Curriculum Framework and working with new academics at Marjon.

Head of Skills and Post 16 Education

Tina is Head of Service for Skills and Post-16 at Plymouth City Council, leading cross-city strategy for post-16 education. She works with employers, providers and communities to strengthen skills infrastructure, widen access and align provision with workforce needs. Tina’s collaborative leadership delivers responsive pathways, supports economic growth and ensures learners gain relevant opportunities, enabling young people and adults to progress into sustainable employment across Plymouth and the wider city region.

As Finance Manager and Director for Four Greens Community Trust CIC and the owner of Singular Accounting Support Services, I deliver comprehensive bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, and financial management services tailored to each client's needs. My expertise includes management accounts, board-level financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, VAT compliance, and year-end accounts, helping organisations maintain strong financial controls and make informed decisions.

Head Teacher Cann Bridge School

Shane is Headteacher of Cann Bridge School, a specialist provision for students with severe learning difficulties. With over fifteen years’ leadership across education and youth services, he excels in curriculum design, organisational improvement and values-led leadership. Formerly a regional Lead SENCO, Shane champions inclusive pathways, careers readiness and supported internships, empowering young people with complex needs to achieve independence and meaningful futures through education, employment, and community participation throughout adulthood.
