 Supported Apprenticeships
(Level 2/3)

A supported apprenticeship is a tailored paid employment programme designed to help individuals with learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional support needs kickstart their careers. Unlike traditional pathways, it pairs the apprentice with a dedicated job coach who provides support with on the job training and helps adapt the workplace environment to their needs. By blending paid, practical work experience with flexible, personalised learning, supported apprenticeships break down traditional barriers to employment giving individuals the confidence to thrive and helping businesses build a truly diverse, inclusive workforce.

Focus: Career Progression & Technical Qualifications

Qualification: Level 2 or Level 3 National Apprenticeship Standards (includes paid employment). E.g. Level 2 Adult Care Worker.

Progression: Higher level Apprenticeship or paid employment.

Programme Overview:

  • For those needing a little more continued support, this programme is designed for learners ready to enter the workforce as paid employees while gaining a formal qualification.

  • Combining on-the-job training with focused study, learners earn a wage while mastering a specific trade or technical profession.

  • With tailored, ongoing wrap-around support to ensure workplace success, this stage is intended to launch long-term career progression and full professional independence.
