Plymouth Social Enterprise Network (PSEN), in partnership with On Course South West (OCSW), is thrilled to announce the launch of a new series of free, in-depth training workshops designed to equip local social enterprises with the essential skills for growth, sustainability, and increased impact. The programme kicks off in November 2025 during the prestigious Social Enterprise City Festival.

This collaborative offering is free of charge for PSEN members, creating a compelling and accessible professional development opportunity that directly addresses the needs of the city’s thriving social enterprise sector. The comprehensive programme covers everything from foundational business
planning and financial management to cutting-edge topics like digital presence, governance, and the role of AI. All sessions will be held at Cobourg House.

Gareth Hart, Director of Plymouth Social Enterprise Network, said:

“These sessions are an amazing opportunity to meet people, learn some practical skills and help develop your business. Plymouth Social Enterprise Network is delighted to be launching this new series of workshops during the prestigious Social Enterprise City Festival in November. Our research shows that social enterprises say they need short training courses on things like marketing, finance and impact. This partnership with On Course South West provides just that. Watch this space for details of more events over the next few months.”

The partnership between PSEN and OCSW leverages PSEN's deep understanding of the local social economy and OCSW's expertise in delivering high-quality, practical adult education. By working together, the organisations have created a robust training offer that supports social enterprises in building resilient teams, strong operational frameworks, and diversified income streams.

Lucinda Sanders, Principal of On Course South West, said:

“By offering this accessible training, we are directly supporting businesses who drive community cohesion, ensuring these vital organisations have the skills to grow their impact and ultimately enhance the overall wellbeing of our city.”

Social enterprises interested in attending should secure their PSEN membership and register for the sessions through the OCSW website (search PSEN).
