SMART SKILLS Launch!

SMART SKILLS and On Course South West is supporting Plymouth residents aged 16 and to improve their confidence and skills in a variety of different subjects.

SMART SKILLS is funded by the European Social Fund.  SMART SKILLS provides free training for people in work as well as the self-employed and unemployed who are in receipt of benefits (JSA, ESA, WRAG, and Universal Credit). 

Plymouth based employers and their staff can also benefit from this offer.  If you are employed we will require evidence of your employer’s support.  There will be paperwork to complete to access the funding along with proof of your eligibility to work and live in the UK.  Please use the attached form to get in touch we would love to hear from you.

Plymouth or Devon based, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) businesses can use SMART SKILLS to identify skills gaps in the existing workforce and provide the training needed to improve resilience during this economic crisis and beyond.  On Course South West aims to support businesses now and for the future.  So if you are an interested employer please do get in touch using the form provided. What will it include?

The SMART SKILLS course offer includes –

Employability – Personal development, CV writing, interview preparation

Digital Skills – using Excel spreadsheets, Digital First Steps

Support for English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) –these courses are designed to improve maths, digital and employability skills alongside developing English skills at the same time. 

Wellbeing – Improve your confidence, develop mindfulness skills and build resilience that will help you to cope with life changes and the challenges of work.
