On Course South West is moving house this summer!

From 1 September 2025, the On Course South West Hub will be located at Cobourg House Mayflower Street. We will be co-locating into a new shared space on the first floor of Cobourg House, Mayflower Street this summer.

This move, under a lease led by On Course South West, will support a more integrated, face-to-face delivery of key further education and skills provision.

The new space will be home to:

  • On Course South West: Offering a range of courses, qualifications, apprenticeships and supported internships

  • Skills Launchpad Plymouth: Delivering Plymouth City Council’s Youth Hub (for 16 to 24-year-olds), and the Adult Hub (for residents aged 25+), as well as the sector skills partnerships including Building Plymouth, Caring Plymouth and Welcoming Plymouth.

  • Careers Plymouth: Plymouth City Council’s leading career transitions work in schools and with young people who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET)

  • Connect to Work: A new Government-funded initiative offering intensive support for individuals with complex barriers to securing sustainable employment.

This means that On Course South West will be moving from its current home at Hyde Park House in Mutley during the summer, with all courses from September 2025 being held in their four new classrooms within Cobourg House.

Skills Launchpad Plymouth will move from their current base on the first floor of Barclays in the city centre, which has previously been provided to us for free through in-kind support.

Within Cobourg House, the space will be clearly divided between each service and there will also be staff facilities. The space is flexible and will enable the team to run more events, such as careers fairs.

Bringing these four key services together in one dedicated space will help improve outcomes for local residents by making it easier to access support in a central, well-connected location. The new space complements the wide range of existing services across the city and benefits from excellent transport links, whether people are arriving by bike, bus, car, or train. It also offers advantages for the Council by fostering greater collaboration between these key teams and improving cost efficiency.
