Many families are struggling with home-schooling during lockdown. We want to help so we’ve launched a free package of support for vulnerable families in our communities.
With the help of our local schools, we’re helping families in need with tutor-based support for parents and carers who need help with specific subjects, such as maths or English, so that they can help their children with literacy and numeracy school work. We’re also providing free equipment including laptops and 4G dongles, available for parents and carers for as long as they are being supported by On Course South West.
We’re offering digital skills support to help parents to use online learning platforms, as well as providing advice and guidance on wellbeing and supporting other learning needs that parents and carers might have while home learning continues.
We hope that this combination of practical support with access to new skills will give parents and carers the knowledge and confidence to support their children with learning at a stressful and challenging time.
