Explanation of fees
Full course fee includes tuition, registration, certification and exam fee (if applicable).
Concessionary fee is a reduction of the tuition fee (partial or full).
Material Fees are for materials/books used during your learning activity that you take away with you, for example, hairdressing kits, craft or food items, etc. If your course is advertised showing a material fee, you will be expected to pay this when you enrol – please see your course information sheet for details. Please do not buy any materials before the course begins, unless otherwise stated, as refunds will not be given if it does not run.
Certain courses include a reasonable materials charge for convenience and cost effectiveness. Our Terms and Conditions for enrolment in 2017-2018 apply.
You can pay your course fees:
- by debit or credit card
- by cheques made payable to On Course South West
- by cash, in person only
By Payment Plan – while our courses offer excellent value for money, we are aware that for some of our learners it would be helpful to be able to spread the payments.
Band 1 – individual courses with a fee of less than £250, and under 15 weeks duration, to be paid in full on enrolment.
Band 2 – individual courses with a fee between £200 and £500, and over 15 weeks duration, require 25% of the total course fee to be paid on enrolment. The remaining balance to be paid in 3 equal instalments once your course has started.
Band 3 – individual courses with a fee between £501 and £1,000 require 25% of the total course fee to be paid on enrolment. The remaining balance to be paid in 8 equal instalments once the course has started.
Band 4 – courses costing over £1,000 require learners to contact the Finance Team to agree individual payment plans unless paying in full. Call 01752 660713 or email email@example.com
Refunds are not generally given, except when a course is closed.
On Course South West reserves the right to cancel or limit lengths of courses. Learners will be entitled to a full or partial refund in event of course closure. As part of our ongoing aim to improve services we may relocate some classes to improved facilities. In the event of a change, you will be notified.
Concessions and funding
Depending on your circumstances you may be entitled to a concession on selected courses. You will need to provide documentary evidence to prove your eligibility for a reduced fee.
Additional support funds may also be available if you cannot meet the cost of your course. Funding is limited and we cannot guarantee its availability, but if awarded can be put towards your course fee, travel, books or childcare. Enquire before you enrol by asking to speak to a Learning Adviser.
